Located in the centre of the Takanini neighbourhood, the Kauri Heart Reserve playground opened in 2022. Since then, it has become a favourite spot for local Takanini families and children.
Kauri Heart Reserve playground’s large blue butterfly climbing frame offers various climbing challenges, cosy hang-out spots, and sensory elements that are accessible to all children.
The playground also boasts 3-meter high swings, including a basket swing and a Duo Swings seat, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The Wehopper, a spinning, seesaw is a hit with the primary school kids and the older kids too!
Plus there is a bright green tunnel slide and pavillions providing shade and shelter to the picnic tables.
This playground is the result of a collaborative effort between Auckland Council, Te Ākitai Waiohua, and Waahi Wairua designs.
