Here is our pick of the BEST places to take the kids strawberry picking in Auckland.
Sometimes the strawberry farms can be closed due to bad weather or lack of fruit, so you are best to ring to check they will be open on the day you are planning to go with your family.
Remember to bring your hat and sunblock with you on warm days.

Enjoy a fun day out picking your own (PYO) strawberries from October to May each year. As well as strawberries you can pick your own raspberries (Nov to Apr), blackberries and boysenberries (Dec to Jan) and Blueberries (Dec to Mar) too! Enjoy real fruit ice cream, farm fresh dishes and coffee from their cafe, adventure park, splash park, FREE train ride, and more family-friendly fun at Good Plant!
Entry is from $5 per person including all you can eat while picking (kids under 5 are FREE). Buckets are supplied, you just need to fill them! Strawberry bucket prices vary throughout the season.
If you are making it a full day out for the family, then check out Muriwai Beach or Bethells Beach which are only a 20 to 25 minute drive away from Good Planet!

Pick your own strawberries at Strawberry Hill Farm in Bombay. There is nothing better than a child getting the chance to harvest and eat strawberries. They also take bookings for playcenter, school or kindy groups to pick your own strawberries.

Pick your own strawberries. Afterwards you can buy fruit ice cream and yoghurt, gelato, smoothies and coffee.
Cost: Entry fee is set at $6.50 per adult, kids under 10 free. Strawberries are charged at $8.50 per kilo. There is no entry fee for children under 10 when accompanied by a parent. You will be supplied with a bucket, but its a good idea to bring a hat and sunblock.
Zaknich Farms Strawberry Gardens

Pick your own strawaberries are available during the season for a limited time.
PYO will not be open for the 2023/2024 summer season, but you can purchase picked strawberries until the end of January at 125 Waitakere Road from 9am to 3pm.

Strawberry fields in Waitakere owned by the Zaknich family, open for pick your own in summer. It is best to bring your own containers to pick into for transporting home securely, and to ensure they don’t turn into jam from the heat before you get home.
Cost: FREE entry and you pay per kilo for strawberries you pick.
Clevedon Strawberries
Two South Auckland locations:
