Get the kids riding for summer! Learning to ride a two-wheeler is one of those big childhood milestones, and being part of that experience as a parent is a thrill.
If you are wondering how to get started, or experiencing a few bumps along the way then check out the free #Learn2Ride sessions.Auckland Transport’s team of qualified instructors work alongside parents to get kids riding. Whether starting on a balance bike or making the transition to pedals the team is there to help. Sessions are weather dependent and run on a drop-in basis. Bring your own bike or try one of theirs.

Saturday Gallery Club#43 Pinch Pots

Drop in to learn how to make pinch pots out of clay and materials. All art materials are provided. Although there is no need to book, participation is limited by space. Art activities are designed for children aged four years and over, and run for around 30 minutes. These sessions are family friendly so adults can join in too—children just need to be accompanied by an adult.

This is a fabulous event for the little “Thomas” fans (and the family too!) Join Thomas & FriendsTM to enjoy train rides and take part in many Thomas-themed activities, most of which are free when you purchase tickets for the 12km steam and diesel train ride.Thomas the Tank Engine will be offering rides in his trucks. His friends Rusty and Bulgy will be there. Bulgy will be taking passengers on trips around the beautiful local countryside. And of course Sir Topham Hatt, the Fat Controller will be in charge for the day.

Vector Lights for Armistice Day Centenary

At the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 1918, an Armistice was signed that ended WWI. Vector Lights commemorates Armistice Centenary 2018 with a lighting and audio show. The lighting design is accompanied by “Sons of Gallipoli” as sung by the Auckland Boys Choir, followed by the Last Post.

At 11am on 11 November 1918, hostilities ceased across the many battlefields of the First World War, finally bringing over four years of intense and costly fighting to an end. There will be live music, children’s crafts & face-painting and sense of farm life with visiting lambs from the Mt Albert Grammar farm!
