Improv Test Drive a koha entry improv workshop is your opportunity to dip your toe into the wonderful world of improvisation, without having to commit to a course. Run by experienced improv teachers, it’s a safe learning environment where you get to experience first hand how the art of improvisation helps your creative thinking, being present, collaboration skills and so much more.
It’s open to all ages, adults and kids alike – so grab a friend and come along. It’s also suitable for families to do together.

Come and enjoy a FREE family weekend at the Auckland Writers Festival Pukapuka Adventures on 18 May and 19 May 2024 which will take over the top floor of the Aotea Centre. Expect book readings, dancing, singing, drawing, zine-making, crafting activities and more. Their interactive line-up has been inspired by all the wonderful words and illustrations from newly released children’s books and it is designed to appeal to a variety of ages so the whole family can attend (from babies to tweens). Children and their adults are invited to bring the secret ingredients of curiosity and play to transform and be transformed by these wonderful stories. Bring your whole heart and your whole whānau to this literature party as we giggle, dance, learn and create.

Every year Auckland Writers Festival stage over 200 public events, gathering together 230 of the world’s best writers and thinkers to celebrate the world of books and ideas.
For the past 22 years the Festival has enriched the culture of our city and established itself as a major Australasian festival, characterised not only by the calibre of our guest authors but also by the enthusiasm and engagement of our audience and the warmth and welcome provided by Auckland as our setting.
