Check out the new fun neighbourhood playground at Lynsale Reserve in Beach Haven on the North Shore of Auckland.

The small playground has a basket swing, climbing frame, and a basketball half court for shooting hoops.  Part of the playground has shade sails over it so the kids can get out of the hot summer sun and play safely in the shade.

The stunning mural of the fantail and tui behind the basket swing was painted by New Zealand artist Jeremey Shirley.

  • Court for shooting hoops

Location:

Lysander Reserve is on Lysander Crescent in Beach Haven  on the North Shore in Auckland.

Shepherds Park is nearby at just over 1km away, which has a children’s playground with a small bike path around the edge and sports fields and tennis courts nearby. You can then go for a walk along Hellers Creek Path which goes through the bush and has views over the creek. The are stairs on parts of the path, so it is not all suitable for buggies and a front pack would be option for babies.
