Mount Wellington War Memorial Reserve Playground in Auckland
Fun children’s playground in Panmure at the side of a large Reserve in Mt Wellington War Memorial Park (also know as Dunkirk Reserve). The park overlooks the Tamaki Estuary with stunning views across to river to Half Moon Bay and Farm Cove. The Park joins the Tamaki Path and is flat and wide enough to easily walk or bike along. We liked this neighbourhood park as it’s fun for all ages as there is play equipment for older kids as well as for younger children.
There is a fun wooden climbing town with a giant orange slide leading off from it.
Children will enjoy the climbing frame to challenge themselves, especially for 5 year olds and upwards right through to teens.
On the day we visited the park the flying fox was broken, with no handle to hold onto or seat to sit on when going for a ride on he flying fox so we couldn’t try it. There also used to be a roundabout and seesaw but have been removed when we visited.
The park has public toilets, rubbish bins and picnic tables and is adjacent to a large sports field.
