Kopupaka Playground is undoubtedly one of the most impressive new destination playgrounds in Auckland. Both my kids, Tristan (10 years old) and Cheverny (8 years old), had a blast exploring the range of equipment on offer at the playground.
As you approach the playground there is a well-equipped fitness area with magnetic bells, dip bench, perfect for older kids and adults.
The flying fox on the right of the main play space is always a hit. My kids really enjoyed the carousel (there are 2 fun ones in this playground).
The climbing tower and twisty tunnel slide are great for all sorts of adventures. The towers and the rubber mounds were designed to reflect the local strawberry farming history of the neighbourhood.
The artificial rubber landscape features such as the mounds and balls scattered around the playground are perfect for games like “Floor is Lava“. There is also a set of swings (including a basket swing), trampolines, in-ground mini trampolines and seesaws. The sand and water play areas are sure to be a hit with kids of all ages.
Below the main playground area, there is a smaller nature play area with a slide and a mini obstacle course with balance beams.
There is also a generous picnic area and benches throughout the playground.
Apart from the playground itself, there are paths all around the reserve, making it perfect for scooters and bikes or a very family pleasant walk.
We think the playground is suited for children of all ages as there is something for every age group to enjoy.
